Neukölln Diary 2016
collage series on stitched paper bread bag

Neukölln Diary (1-7), collage series on stitched paper bread bag, mixed media, 44 x 44 cm, 2016

The Neukölln Diary is an abstract analysis of life in the upgraded district of Neukölln. Collages are created from daily waste, such as scraps of paper that are left over after workshops, remnants of bureaucratic correspondence and BVG, based on the paper bags for bread from the nearby cheap super- market. These poetic compositions about the development of the district in a constantly changing market reality refer to the sociological question in the book of Zygmunt Bauman “Wasted Lives. Modernity and it Outcasts”.
